Become A Certified Personal Trainer

A certified personal trainer or aerobics instructor is vital for some people. There are just some people who want to be involved with fitness but who need someone to show them the right steps and methods. These exercise fans want to feel confident that they are going to see results. So there are many certified personal trainer jobs out there. The average homeowner uses some sort of aerobics exercise to improve his or her cardiovascular health but still needs the constant encouragement and motivation to keep exercising.

To get fit, people don’t just move around seemingly randomly. They use step programs, strength training and combat exercises.

Getting paid to help these people can easily seem appealing. It’s no wonder that a person decides to become an aerobics instructor. Becoming a certified personal trainer, however, takes effort. After all, you’ll get paid if you become an aerobics instructor and get the exercise you need to boot. Of course, some questions then come up. How do you take on personal trainer jobs and how do you become a certified personal trainer?

Certified Personal Trainer Requirements

Certification is usually handled by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America or the America Council on Exercise. People applying to become a certified fitness trainer will be tested on exercise physiology, anatomy and motivational techniques. Make sure that you meet the requirements before attempting to take the test.

Safety and motivation are of the utmost importance. Make sure to follow guidelines set by the organization you belong to. You'll need to keep an eye on your clients to insure you are there if someone needs help.

After You Become a Certified Personal Trainer

Now you need to find out what a certified personal trainer does. An aerobics instructor generally uses music with a beat that fits the teaching method. A slow ballad simply won’t do if you’re teaching step aerobics. A good aerobics instructor is creative enough turn the class into fun.

Before applying for an aerobics instructor job, make sure that you have the experience and knowledge to actually be an aerobics instructor. Both are equally important. High impact exercise needs to be done correctly or you’ll damage a body rather than strengthen it. Experience can tell you if a particular person can handle the exercise or if someone needs an easier regimen.

To become an outstanding aerobics instructor, you need to have routines of your own. Your friends can help here, as they can give you feedback. They can tell you whether or not that routine is extremely difficult or if it isn’t fun. Try to get feedback from your expected customers. A twenty year old might be able to handle a few rounds of kickboxing moves, but if you’re teaching the elderly you may want to tone it down a bit.

As a certified personal trainer, you will be required to know how to handle basic injuries. Learn how to give proper CPR and how to administer first aid. Two minutes might be the difference between brain damage and looking like an expert hero.
