Endermologie
Endermologie is a treatment performed by plastic
surgeons to rid cellulite. Endermologie treatments effectively reduce the appearance of cellulite. French plastic
surgeons developed the first endermologie machine to be used in cellulite treatment. Endermologie seems to prove
that cellulite is not a condition associated with being overweight. And yet the appearance of cellulite diminishes
with weight loss or liposuction.
Cellulite is a condition that affects 85% of women
across the world. Although they are not certain, researchers have come to believe that there a various factors
involved. They do conclude that diet, lifestyle choices, and tight clothing which restricts circulation contribute
to the formation and nourishment of the condition. Women continue to search for a long-lasting treatment that will
rid cellulite from their bodies or at least decrease the cellulite progression.
Endermologie uses rollers over the affected area that
feel like a deep tissue massage. Suction is used in tandem to tighten the skin and distribute the dimpling.
Sessions usually last between 14 and 28 minutes. Follow ups should be done at least once monthly.
Endermologie has been the first treatment approved by
the Food and Drug Administration. Thus the claim “temporary reduction of cellulite" can be legally used. The
folding and stretching action of the connective tissue from an endermologie treatment reduces the appearance of
cellulite. So the FDA allows treatment plans to claim reduced body measurements, increased circulation, relief of
muscle pain, and reduction of muscle spasms.
This method of cellulite reduction was developed in the
1980s as a nonsurgical procedure for treating burn scars. During burn treatments surgeons began to notice the
cellulite reduction on patients. From then on, the benefits of endermologie for getting rid of cellulite are well
recognized.
Individuals who choose to use endermologie see results
within six treatments. Following a treatment, the majority of patients report a very deep relaxing sensation. These
people also report a feeling of increased energy level that goes with the relaxed mood. There might be some minor
but temporary bruising similar to what happens from a deep tissue massage.
Before having in endermologie treatment, an individual
should drink at least 8 cups of water and continue to hydrate during the course of treatment. The drinking of
sufficient amounts of water helps eliminate waste products from the body. It also stimulates the lymphatic tissue
which makes it easier for the cellulite fats to disperse.
Endermologie Machine
Because of the popularity of the endermologie treatment
many manufacturers have developed a relatively inexpensive home-based endermologie machine. Unfortunately, some of
these machines do not achieve the same results as seen in a clinically supervised procedures. Most handheld
machines cost between $100 and $500 and are not FDA approved. So they can't quite claim that you'll see a reduction
in the appearance of cellulite.
At this time the long-term results from this
noninvasive treatment have not yet been established. As word spreads about endermologie, there will be more
cosmetic surgeons offering the service at their office or at clinics. Individuals who want to try endermologie to
reduce the appearance of their cellulite should seek referrals from friends and family.
Although the treatment is noninvasive and has little
side effects it is best to seek treatment from a certified cosmetic surgeon. Always continue your search for
inexpensive yet successful methods for dealing with cellulite.
