Female Infertility: Improve your fertility
Female infertility and age go hand in hand. As both men
and women put off starting a family until their careers are well established, they may be finding difficulty trying
to conceive. Male infertility is aggravated because sperm count tends to decrease with age, smoking and nutrition.
Female infertility may show up as an unexplained infertility issue.
Regardless of age, there a steps one can take to
improve the chances of getting pregnant. Here's a list of things you can do to treat infertility.
Causes of Infertility
Don't smoke. It's more important than you realize.
Nicotine and its chemicals dramatically impact male and female fertility. Conception rates go down with nicotine.
The Journal of Fertility and Sterility found that sperm counts were lowered 17% for men who smoke.
A Polish study confirmed these findings. Smoking for
men and women when attempting to conceive complicates the treatment of infertility. A study by the American society
of reproduction medicine and by Human Reproduction researchers found second-hand smoke also affects female
infertility.
Stress is another factor for infertility in women.
Although not totally confirmed, stress is one of the causes of infertility. Recognizing stress and taking steps to
reduce it is a simple infertility treatment. Women who give up trying to conceive or have resorted to adopting a
child have found themselves pregnant during the adoption period or within six months after the adoption has been
completed.
Nutrition is another simple infertility cure. Harvard
researchers published in OBGYN News a report stating that 79% of the cases of infertility had a diet that was lower
than average in antioxidants. It seems that vitamins C and D play a role in male fertility. The New York Academy of
Medicine found that after only one week of a daily dose of vitamin C sperm counts rose by almost 140%.
The taking of antioxidant supplements especially in
heavy doses can be harmful to the liver. It is far better to remove fecal waste quickly from the intestine which is
a breeding ground for oxidants by using a balanced high-fiber supplement. Doing a colon cleanse is not an
alternative solution.
Alcohol in women in reduces fertility levels by as much
as 50% and in men decreases sperm counts. Caffeine from coffee, tea, and chocolate affects both men and women.
Xenoestrogens from chemicals and pesticides unbalance hormone levels and can sometimes be the sole culprit in
reduced fertility levels.
Women who suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome may not
be able to control this disease. But losing as little as 5% of body weight promotes ovulation and pregnancy. These
women who suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome are usually obese or overweight. Cutting down on calories and
losing weight reduces infertility problems.
Lack of sleep leads to infertility and other health
problems. The hormone leptin which is essential to appetite and weight regulation also plays a role in fertility.
For a woman, lack of leptin causes irregular ovulation. Chronic sleep disorder will make the entire body
irregular.
Female Infertility
Women attempting to get pregnant should keep fertility
charts. Every individual woman is different and does not necessarily ovulate on day 14 of their cycle. A woman
needs to pay attention to signs of ovulation when she is most capable of getting pregnant.
The taking of basal body temperature and observing
cervical mutinous are good methods for detecting signs of fertility. These measurements and observations should be
recorded on a fertility chart.
Male Infertility
Men also have fertility issues. They can contribute by
taking multivitamins, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, reducing stress, exercising regularly, and watching
their weight. These controllable factors influence the health of sperm in men. Acupuncture for infertility is a
non-invasive method that has been shown to increase fertility in both men and women.
Infertility causes anxiety yet the most natural
infertility remedies and healthy living are found in good nutrition, plenty of regular sleep, loss of weight, and
the reduction of stress, caffeine, alcohol, and the exposure to chemical toxins.
